Perhaps you think all counsellors are unbiased or objective, but the fact is most are in a conflict of interest. Many credit counselling agencies are considered soft collection agencies and are funded by the credit card companies. The effect on credit rating is not significantly better than a consumer proposal or bankruptcy.
